Among them is Gerwyn Price who kicks off proceedings tonight on the main stage. He eased through to the third round earlier and will be facing off against Mensur Suljovic who had it a lot more tougher as he was taken to a decider by Danny Noppert. Form suggests that Price could be the man to beat this weekend but 'The Gentle' will hope to pay heed to that later on.
Also hoping to dump out an in-form player is James Wade. A 6-1 win for 'The Machine' earlier against Ricky Evans was impressive and very clinical. He takes on Michael van Gerwen who despite hitting a nine-dart finish earlier is one player that can definitely get the better of 'Mighty Mike', can the Aldershot ace provide an early exit for the World Number One?
Then it is Glen Durrant who will be aiming this weekend to go at least one better than the semi-finals, which he has reached three times in televised tournaments this year and he takes on Raymond van Barneveld in what could be a tie of the round.
'Barney' has been back on form this weekend and will hope for one final flourish before he bows out at the World Championship. Durrant will have other ideas.
Then finally Mervyn King will take on Rob Cross. A tie that many would expect to see with Dave Chisnall involved; but alas it is King who produced a brilliant display to dispel the St Helens ace and he will hope to do the same later against 'Voltage' who was in good form earlier today when he defeated Jamie Hughes.
Over on Stage Two, the ties include Chris Dobey against John Henderson; as well as Ian White versus Michael Smith again in a clash between practice partners. Action kicks off at 7pm GMT.
