Michael van Gerwen has moved up to third place in the
Premier League Darts standings after winning the weekly title in Birmingham. 'Mighty Mike' managed to win over frontrunner Luke Littler in the 11th weekly final on Thursday night.
After 11 of the 16 rounds of play, Van Gerwen is on 22 points. The 34-year-old Dutchman is still behind Luke Littler (26 points) and Luke Humphries (24 points).
Behind Van Gerwen is Nathan Aspinall on 24 points, while Michael Smith is number five with seventeen points. Behind that is a sizable gap to number six Rob Cross, who is on eleven points. Gerwyn Price is number seven with ten points, while Peter Wright is disconsolately last with four points.
