Michael van Gerwen has secured his place in the playoffs during the fifteenth round of play in the Premier League Darts. Earlier, Luke Littler and Luke Humphries secured a spot for the final night.
Van Gerwen managed to reach the final in Leeds on Thursday night after victories over Gerwyn Price (6-3) and Luke Littler (6-1). In the final he was defeated by Luke Humhries (6-5). Cool Hand Luke' is in any case sure of a second place now and still has a small chance to finish first. Humphries will have to win the final round next Thursday and hope that Littler does not take any more points.
The final spot for the playoffs goes to Michael Smith or Nathan Aspinall. They will face each other again during the final round of play. The winner of that match will receive a ticket to the final night.
