The first day has taken place at the
Players Championship Finals. On Friday, 64 players started the tournament in Minehead, but only 32 of those remain at the start of the second day of the tournament on Saturday.
For half of the players who will be in action Saturday, it will be a busy day. Because the players who make it through the second round on Saturday afternoon are expected back at the Butlin's Resort Minehead on Saturday night for the third round.

Due to the high number of participants, games will be played on two different stages during the first two days of the tournament. The matches on the main stage will be televised, while the matches on the second board will be shown
via a live stream on PDC TV.
On the main stage, we begin with a showdown between Stephen Bunting and Daryl Gurney, two players who managed to get past the first round with big wins on Friday. Then it's the turn of Peter Wright and James Wade, a clash between two of the most successful PDC players of all time. Richard Veenstra is the first Dutchman to make his appearance. After his great victory over Wessel Nijman (6-5) 'Flyers' will face Nathan Aspinall, who in turn took care of Karel Sedlacek in an attractive duel.
Number one seed Gerwyn Price began his tournament with a 6-2 win over Max Hopp, which now allows him to face Sebastian Bialecki. The Pole sent former world champion Rob Cross home at the Players Championship Finals. Title favorite Luke Littler is assigned to the fifth match of the afternoon session. 'The Nuke' meets Ross Smith, who was too strong for Ryan Meikle, 6-1.
Gian van Veen showed resilience in the first round when trailing 0-3 against defending champion Luke Humphries. In the end, Van Veen prevailed 6-5 against the world number two, which was already his fourth win over Humphries in 2025. Next it was the turn of Josh Rock and Scott Williams, who are known as two good friends on the PDC circuit. Rock won 6-3 over Gabriel Clemens in the opening round, while Williams took the win against Ian White (6-2).
Gian van Veen won handsomely in the first round 6-5 over Luke Humphries
It is possible that the duel between Danny Noppert and Madars Razma will still be moved to the main stage. This match is initially the last match on the second stage. Noppert started his tournament convincingly on Friday with a 6-2 victory over Ricky Evans thanks to an average of almost 104. Razma prevented a Dutch showdown in this round by knocking Dirk van Duijvenbode 6-3.
James Hurrell and Luke Woodhouse will open the program on Stage Two, followed by Adam Lipscombe and Bradley Brooks. The third game will be between Callan Rydz and former tournament finalist Ryan Searle, and Jermaine Wattimena will make his appearance on the second stage anyway. After his convincing 6-3 victory over Wesley Plaisier, a meeting with Ryan Joyce, who in turn eliminated Dave Chisnall, awaits.
Martin Schindler faces off with Nick Kenny, while Ricardo Pietreczko faces two-time world champion Gary Anderson. Justin Hood, after his surprising victory over Damon Heta, will play Andrew Gilding, who survived no fewer than nine match darts in his match against Dom Taylor. Cam Crabtree also escaped elimination in the first round. He saw Mike De Decker miss six matchdarts and will face Chris Dobey in the second round.
