Price and De Sousa safely through opening round tests

Gerwyn Price and Jose de Sousa are safely through their opening round tests to end proceedings on the opening day at the Players Championship Finals.

De Sousa after his Grand Slam win did not suffer the same fate as James Wade who he beat in the final on the same stage last weekend as he saw off Mike de Decker 6-3 to begin his campaign. He also hit three 180's and a 97 average en route to winning through.

Just before these games as well, Stage Two finished with Danny Noppert thrashing Steve Beaton 6-1 with a 100 average and three 180's en route.
