Price defeated by Kuivenhoven in PDC Super Series 4 third round clash despite staggering 109 average

Gerwyn Price will be heading back to his hotel room early on Day Three at PDC Super Series 4 despite averaging 109 against Maik Kuivenhoven.

Price hit the staggering average but still lost 6-5 to the Dutchman who himself only averaged 97 and has established himself as a sort of spoiler to the big names with Raymond van Barneveld also defeated today and him holding a winning record over Michael van Gerwen.

'The Iceman' wasn't helped by two bounceouts in the deciding leg but it is Kuivenhoven that moves through to a Last 16 line-up that includes the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Jose de Sousa, Jonny Clayton and Adrian Lewis.
