Price edges past Anderson to set up Cullen clash, Van Gerwen smashes Wright to begin Premier League Darts in Sheffield

Night 14 has begun at the Premier League Darts in Sheffield with Gerwyn Price and Michael van Gerwen joining Joe Cullen so far in the semi-finals.

Price will face Cullen who has a bye this week due to James Wade withdrawing due to illness and it was 'The Iceman' who took down Gary Anderson to begin the evening. He did so 6-4 with a 100.2 average.

It was one way traffic early on as Price fired his way into a 3-0 lead with an 81 checkout for a 12-darter. But despite breaking, Anderson broke straight back with a 128 checkout on the bull for 3-1.

He made it successive legs but in a theme of the contest, Price continued to edge away with a 113 checkout for 4-2 and a 90 checkout for 5-3 before sealing the deal after Anderson had kept the tie alive at 5-4.

While there could be another clash between Michael van Gerwen and Jonny Clayton and after some time away from the oche after sealing the latest European Tour, he has continued where he left off.

Van Gerwen smashed Peter Wright who continues his form woes and will not head to Prague either - he lost 6-1 with a 103.2 average from Mighty Mike to reach the semi-finals.

Wright levelled up early on but Van Gerwen got stronger and stronger averaging around 108 to go 4-1 up. He continued to run riot with a 13-darter to go 5-1 up before sealing the deal to send Snakebite packing.
