Price going to buy houses with World Championship prize money: 'Good investment for the future'

Gerwyn Price earned £500,000 in prize money with winning the world title during the 2021 PDC World Darts Championship. The Iceman already has an idea what to do with this amount.

Wife Bethan and daughters Emily and Bethany can expect a present, but Price will invest the rest of the money. “I already have some real estate and with this amount I can also do some nice things. Houses in Wales are not very expensive so I think I will buy about fifty'', he joked. ''No, but I can buy one or two houses. I think that's a good investment for the future'', the new world champion told Dutch newspaper Algemeen Dagblad.

With winning the world title Price also became the new number one on the PDC Order of Merit. Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright follow on the second and third place respectively. According to The Iceman, both played are capable to put his new position under threat.

''Look to the ranking, they are almost tied. I have to look after my left and right shoulder. But I'm not scared for them. I have shown where I'm capable of. They have to perform very well to take the first position from me.''
