In electric form over the weekend,
Gerwyn Price romped to his fourth
International Darts Open title. With a tournament average of 103.38, the Iceman cracks the top-10 list for the highest tournament-winning averages in the history of the
European Tour.
Averaging 104.24, Price achieved his first win over Ross Smith since 2015 in his first match before a nail-biting 6-5 win over Mike De Decker required all of his 106.69 average to edge through to the quarter-finals.
From there a 6-4 win over Rob Cross came in spite of a comparatively low 96.68 average before Price really turned on the style in the 7-2, semi-final win over Dirk van Duijvenbode and the 8-4 success in the final against Michael van Gerwen with averages of 106.66 and 105.64 respectively.
With his tournament average of 103.38 landing Price tenth on the all-time Euro Tour list, he becomes the only man other than Michael van Gerwen in the top 10. The phenomenal Dutchman holds the nine highest tournament-winning averages in European Tour history including a ridiculous 107.58 from the 2018 European Darts Grand Prix at the number one spot.
