Price kicks into red-hot form to defeat Humphries, set to face Smith in Hungarian Darts Trophy final

Gerwyn Price will face Michael Smith in the final of the first European Tour event of the season, the Hungarian Darts Trophy shortly.

Price stopped a fightback from Luke Humphries in the opening semi-final producing an epic 134 checkout to claim it 7-4 averaging 107.2 as he fired up at the right time of the tournament.

He went 6-1 up and looked to produce a demolition job against 'Cool Hand Luke' but faced a late battle as multiple missed match darts allowed the Newbury ace back in but Price completed the feat in the end.

While Smith is into a tenth European Tour final after a 7-5 victory over Jose de Sousa with a 98.5 average.

Smith went 4-2 up on De Sousa after the opening legs were shared but 'The Special One' came back when Smith went 5-3 up to break throw and make it 5-5.

'Bully Boy' kept on track though and broke back with a 78 checkout to go within one at 6-5 before holding to win from there and battle into the final.
