After a long hiatus this year, the
European Tour is set for a return between 3-5 September in the form of the
Hungarian Darts Trophy which will take place in Budapest and the
prize money is set ahead of proceedings starting on Friday.
A prize fund of £140,000 overall, it will see all the qualifiers guaranteed £1,000, while the top 16 players on the Hungarian Darts Trophy seeds who enter in the second round will receive £2,000 at least. However, these sixteen players must win their first match in the second round for the prize money to actually count towards the Order of Merit and further rankings.
Qualifying players who win their first match will therefore also go on to receive £2,000 in prize money. Third round is good for £3000, while quarter-finalists go home with £5000. The semi-finalists will get at least £6500, before the rewards increase for reaching the final.
The winner of the first Euro Tour tournament of the season will go home with £25,000. The runner-up at the Hungarian Darts Trophy will receive £10,000.
