Smith produces commanding win over Wright, set to face De Sousa in Hungarian Darts Trophy semi-finals

Michael Smith will face off against Jose de Sousa shortly in the semi-finals of the Hungarian Darts Trophy after seeing off Adam Gawlas and Peter Wright respectively.

De Sousa was first through after seeing off Gawlas 6-5 despite missing ten match darts en route to a deciding leg win with relief for 'The Special One' who was taken all the way with the Czech ace having the throw.

But he got over the line with five 180's en route and will now take on Smith after a 6-2 win for 'Bully Boy'.

He defeated Wright with a 96.7 average with 'Snakebite' underpar at around 91.7. The St Helens ace hit 45% on his doubles and joins the last four line-up which also sees Luke Humphries and Gerwyn Price facing off.
