Price produces second highest singles average in World Cup of Darts history as Wales book semi-final spot

Wales are into the semi-finals of the 2022 World Cup of Darts after dumping out the hosts, Germany in emphatic fashion with Gerwyn Price in particular starring for the former champions.

Aiming to reclaim the crown they won in 2020 which kick started Jonny Clayton's meteoric rise up to the darting elite, they sent out a statement in seeing off Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler.

Price started proceedings off in a potentially tough task facing Martin Schindler but 'The Iceman' smashed through 'The Wall' with the second highest singles average in World Cup of Darts history.

He produced a 117.88 mark with a 4-0 win as Schindler was simply helpless to the remarkable display from Price who hit a 170 checkout as well as a 120 checkout and completely flawless on his doubles at 4/4.

The onus was now on Clayton to deliver against Gabriel Clemens and he did so sealing a 4-2 win and preventing Germany one final crack at a pairs decider as home hopes are now dented.

They will now play the Netherlands this evening in a mouth watering clash between two of the best teams so far this tournament.
