Price, Van Gerwen, Anderson into Last 32, Durrant with first ProTour win since July as first round concludes at Players Championship 9

The first round is complete at Players Championship 9 with the Last 64 well underway as Gerwyn Price, Michael van Gerwen, Gary Anderson and Ryan Searle are among those to move through.

Price had a bye through the first round and despite not being at his best, he saw off Geert Nentjes 6-3 with an 88 average.

While it was a lot better for Gary Anderson and Michael van Gerwen who averaged 104 and 105 in seeing off Cameron Menzies and Ted Evetts to move through.

Searle was also on hand to produce one of the performances of the day so far with a 109 average to see off Rowby-John Rodriguez. With Brian Raman, Andy Boulton and Luke Humphries also through.

From the first round, Raymond van Barneveld claimed victory over Nathan Aspinall 6-4 and Glen Durrant sealed his first win on the ProTour since July last year in a welcome boost for the three-time World Champion.
