The Iceman
Gerwyn Price has been on fire so far this year. Nowhere more has that excellent form been evident than on the
European Tour with the Welshman now having averaged over 100 in 13 of his last 16 matches in the events.
Including the ridiculous high of a 110.49 average in beating Michael Smith 6-2 in the quarter-final of the European Darts Open, Price has been in almost unstoppable form. The former World Champion has averaged below the ton just three times.
Curiously, on two of the three occasions Price has averaged in the 90's, he's still emerged victorious. In a 6-4 win over Rob Cross in the quarter-final of the International Darts Open and in an 8-7 victory over Dirk van Duijvenbode that saw him claim the European Darts Open title. The only other time Price has dropped below the 100 average mark in this timespan was in his final Euro Tour match of 2022, losing 6-4 to Mensur Suljovic.
