Whilst
Liam Maendl-Lawrance has been touted a potential future star by some, his throwing style is methodical to say the least and
Robert Owen had that feeling all too well on Saturday evening at the
German Darts Grand Prix.
Maendl-Lawrance sealed a 6-5 win over Owen after a marathon over 40 minute match which the Welshman called in the 501 Darts Facebook Group 'soul destroying' referencing to the time taken between throws.
The
post by another Facebook user which initially called Maendl-Lawrance boring to watch had the Welshman comment in reply following that comment up by saying the following. "My soul still hasn't come back to my body. Never experienced anything like that and probably never well again. Well I hope not."
He also played last week at the International Darts Open but with the PDC next heading outside of Germany to Graz and Leeuwarden, it will be a while until the 18-year-old could be seen on the
European Tour again.
But amidst all of this, Danny Noppert who proved too strong on Sunday has had to play him twice in two weekends.
