The next ranking major on the PDC calendar is the World Grand Prix in October. The qualifying race for this tournament is in full swing, but there are thirteen more tournaments to play before the lineup is complete.
The lineup for the 2024 World Grand Prix consists of the top 16 in the world rankings and the top 16 in the Pro Tour Order of Merit. The top eight in the world rankings are seeded in the first round, and thus receive protected status in the draw.
Luke Humphries will lead the seeds at the World Grand Prix, the tournament where "Cool Hand Luke" won his first major last year. Michael Smith and Michael van Gerwen are still battling for the second spot in the seeds. In addition to Van Gerwen, Rob Cross, Gerwyn Price and Peter Wright are sure to qualify.
Sixteen more players will be added to the line-up via the Pro Tour ranking. Luke Littler has already secured his debut at the World Grand Prix through this ranking, while Gary Anderson leads the way through this route.
James Wade, Cameron Menzies and Jermaine Wattimena sit just inside the line for the final spots. They still have four Euro Tours and nine Players Championship tournaments to play themselves into the field of competitors.
The 2024 World Grand Prix is scheduled from 7 to 13 October in Leicester. Last year, Humphries managed to win the title at this major tournament by winning 5-2 in sets over Price in the final.
