Rafferty seals back-to-back PDC Development Tour titles, fifth of 2022 with Event 23 win over Williams

Nathan Rafferty has sealed a fifth PDC Development Tour title of the season after defeating Lewy Williams in the final of Event 23 in Wigan.

As has been the case this season, the Tour Card holders have dominated proceedings with Rafferty and fellow Northern Irish forerunner, Josh Rock standing out with Williams as alluded to also getting to the final.

Rock has now qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts after sealing a few wins despite losing in a game with a 108 average in the latter stages but it is 'The Natural' who takes the spoils going into the final tournament of the season.

The PDC Development Tour circuit consists of 24 tournaments in 2022. Last year there was a separate tour for British and European players due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but this year both circuits have been merged again.

Each Development Tour tournament has a prize fund of £10,000. With the prize money a ranking will be made. At the end of the season the numbers one and two will receive an invitation to the PDC World Darts Championship, plus a Tour Card for 2023 and 2024.
