Raman positive over opening to PDC career: "I haven't played my best game yet and still got some nice results"

Brian Raman has had his first PDC Ranking Tournaments, after winning a PDC Tour Card in January at European Q-School in Niedernhausen.

The Belgian is doing well, earning a total of £5,000 in prize money in his first five tournaments. In his first month, Raman has had victories over the likes of Brendan Dolan, Ian White and José de Sousa.

"I think my debut month has been quite positive", Raman analyses in conversation with Nieuwsblad.be. "I haven't played my best game yet and still got some nice results. I won against three well-known names, so I had signed up for that in advance. Not that the pressure is off. I put it on myself because then I perform better. Other players now know they have to take me into account. Even if I don't play well, I can still win matches. I can win ugly ones too."

Last weekend Raman made his Euro Tour debut at the International Darts Open. There he managed to reach the third round with wins over David Schlichting and De Sousa.

"My best match was against De Sousa, also just because of the crowd that came to Riesa'', concludes the 25-year-old Belgian.
