Rampant Rodriguez dumps out Price, White punishes match dart disaster from Cullen at European Darts Matchplay

Gerwyn Price will not add to his European Tour title tally this weekend after Rowby-John Rodriguez once again moved into the final day with a superb win over 'The Iceman' at the European Darts Matchplay in Trier sealing it 6-2 with four 180's and a 96.7 average.

The Austrian broke Price in the third leg with an 11-darter and took a second break lead in the fifth leg via double 8. Via a 12-darter it went 5-1. Price then took one more leg, before Rodriguez finished it off with a 17-darter.

The defending champion, Joe Cullen is also out after a doubling disaster in the deciding leg handing Ian White the win. He missed no fewer than seven match darts before White pounced on double 16.

For home hopes though, Gabriel Clemens will carry them into the final day after seeing off Daryl Gurney in a decider. This match was decided after a deciding leg. Gurney had a chance to win from 114, but failed on double 20. Clemens then managed to finish 68 for a place in the third round.
