With a familiar haunt of Minehead on the horizon,
Michael van Gerwen is officially in business in this year's
Premier League Darts after winning Night Four of the weekly roadshow in Exeter.
Van Gerwen has been unlucky at times in the tournament which has summed up his last 18 months at times including last time out with the dazzling brilliance of Gerwyn Price stopping him.
But there was no stopping the Green Machine tonight as he breezed past Peter Wright in a whitewash win defeating his great rival with a 99 average, four 180's and 75% on the doubles after previously seeing off Jonny Clayton and Michael Smith in two similarly impressive displays.
For 'Snakebite', he was out of sorts hitting 0/2 on the doubles and averaging only 87 as he failed to add to his Week One win.
But for the Dutchman, it can be seen as a real confidence boost as he heads to the UK Open seeking his first major since the Players Championship Finals back in 2020.
For Wright, he will look for another major to add to his collection as well as heading to the top of the Order of Merit which he has a good chance of doing in Minehead. But at least in Exeter, the night belongs to Michael van Gerwen.
