Michael van Gerwen will face
Peter Wright shortly in the final of Night Four of
Premier League Darts in Exeter for the latest weekly win.
Van Gerwen hasn't been firing on all cylinders yet in the Premier League but has clicked into gear this evening as he fired past Michael Smith in a 6-2 win.
The Green Machine posted an average of 104.3 with four 180's and 6/8 on the doubles as he backed up his earlier win against Jonny Clayton with a superb display.
His old rival Wright who has since been doing battle with Gerwyn Price at the top of the rankings now awaits with 'Snakebite' looking for his second nightly win shortly after winning in Week One with a 113 average in the final.
In moving through, he took advantage of a below-par James Wade who couldn't carry through his form he showed against Gary Anderson averaging only 85.8 as he fell 6-2.
While the World Number Two averaged 103.4 in winning through with five 180's and 54% on the doubles which is a performance he will likely have to repeat against Van Gerwen.
