UKOPEN RD4 RATAJSKI 01A
Krzysztof Ratajski is through to the Quarter-Finals at the 2021 UK Open after easing past Jonny Clayton in a superb victory for 'The Polish Eagle'.
Ratajski blew away Clayton at times during the tie winning 10-3 averaging 103.5 in the end to see off the in-form 'Ferret' who claimed The Masters and played so well at the Super Series.
Ratajski produced an incredible start to the tie hitting a 122 and 128 finish en route to a 3-0 lead over the heavily fancied Clayton.
Going into the break, Ratajski was 5-0 up and was halfway to victory already with a 107 average and 5/8 on the doubles.
He returned to go 6-0 up before Clayton finally got his first leg on the board.
Despite that, on his throw Ratajski kicked off 180 to put his average up to 109 and was down to 48 which he pinned on double 10 for a 12-darter to hold and go 7-1 up.
He kicked off 100-140 on Clayton's throw and was first down to a finish in the form of 164. A 140 left double 12 with Clayton on 148.
He couldn't produce the roof raiser so Ratajski returned for another break to go 8-1 up.
He missed double 16 for a 63 checkout and Clayton returned for a break back at 8-2 down.
A 74 checkout saw Ratajski break back though on return and go 9-2 up. 130 left 52 for Clayton to break again to make it 9-3.
Ratajski missed a match dart on the Clayton throw but returned for the same target to claim a 10-3 win.
