Raymond van Barneveld stuns fans with new "Turkey hair"

Raymond van Barneveld is widely regarded as one of the greatest darters of all time. The five-time champion of the world isn't exactly known for luscious locks however.

Recently, the 57-year-old Dutchman took a rest and relaxation trip to Turkey, a destination widely known as a dream location for those wanting a new hair cut or new set of teeth. Taking to his official X (Twitter) account after returning home from his holiday, Van Barneveld hilariously played up to the stigma surrounding holidays to Turkey.

"Back from my holiday in Turkey," he said on X, formerly known as Twitter, sharing a photo of himself sporting a new wig. It's fair to say, the responses came thick and fast. One fan responded: "I think you may have mixed the Tom Cruise and young Mr Rydz pictures up for your hair style!"

"Thought it was Dennis Priestley for a moment," a second joked. While a third replied: "How many matches do you have to throw to pay for this one Barney pal?"

Whilst Van Barneveld won't be in action for a little while longer, the darts will return today as the World Series of Darts takes the trip Down Under for the Australian Darts Masters.
