Madars Razma saw off Wayne Jones in a match dominated by breaks of throw to move into the second round at the
International Darts Open in Riesa.
But post match, Razma admitted it is difficult to focus on darts 100% at the moment with the ongoing situation in Russia/Ukraine being so close to home.
"The first round is never easy but actually today it wasn't me, I played maybe for two persons because I think about the situation in the Baltic states in Ukraine and it's really hard to focus for darts now actually I posted on Twitter yesterday that I'm ready to go back home at anytime because it's very hard," said Razma on stage.
"I don't know if people in Europe maybe don't understand the situation. But I live very near, my hometown is very close. I am not in darts now, I think the next few weeks as well, it will be very hard to focus. I'm happy to win of course and I will try to play better and focus."
Next up is Joe Cullen and it is a clash he is looking forward to with hopefully a clearer mind.
"He's a good guy, he's a good player. I will try to beat him of course. For me it's very important to forget everything and focus just for darts because today it was good to hit 180 for fans."
