The fans in the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin got exceptional value for money on Thursday night. A record number of legs were played during this round of Premier League Darts play.
Like every week, the eight Premier League players played a mini-tournament with four quarter-finals, two semi-finals and a final in succession. Five of the seven matches ended in a 6-5 result, while the other two were decided 6-4.
A total of 75 of the 77 possible legs were thus played, which is a record in the current format, in use since 2022. The old record was set in 2022 in Rotterdam. Then a total of 74 legs were played.
Michael van Gerwen managed to take the weekly title in Berlin on Thursday night. The 34-year-old Dutchman defeated Nathan Aspinall (6-4), Michael Smith (6-5) and Luke Littler (6-5).

75 legs played in Berlin out of a possible 77, beating the previous record over this format of 74 in Rotterdam 2022.
