Damon Heta could finally get it right on the big stage again after dumping out Michael van Gerwen in a stunning 7-6 win to reach the final of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy.
Heta will face off against Peter Wright who produced a stellar 108 average to thrash Rob Cross earlier but it was a lot closer and a game in which a comeback was needed by 'The Heat' to produce a decider win.
He had to come from 5-2 down to seal it with Van Gerwen unable to take out 86 to go one away and Heta broke with a 56 checkout following it up with a stellar run to force a decider.
This included an 81 checkout for a 12-darter to go 5-4 down. Van Gerwen hit back with a 126 checkout to hold to make it 6-4 but Heta held on double 20 and produced another 11-darter to make it 6-6.
In the decider, Van Gerwen did all he could to pressure with a 180 but Heta hit back with a 72 checkout to win 7-6 and will face Wright shortly.
