Last week,
Gerwyn Price saw off
Dirk van Duijvenbode in the final of the European Darts Open and they are set to face off again shortly at the
International Darts Open in Riesa, where 'The Iceman' is the defending champion.
Price kept his title defence alive in a contest featuring four ton plus finishes as he sealed it 6-4. Two of those finishes came from Cross who also hit six 180's despite defeat.
Next up is Van Duijvenbode who sealed a 6-4 win over Damon Heta. Last week Price and Van Duijvenbode faced each other in the final in Leverkusen. After two missed matchdarts by the Dutchman, the final victory then went to the Welshman.
Van Duijvenbode was broken in the first leg, but he immediately broke Heta back with a 72 check-out. A 12-darter then brought 'Aubergenius' into the lead. For a long time after that, the legs went with throw. That trend was broken when Heta left four doubles unused in the tenth leg. Van Duijvenbode was the first to take advantage of this and sealed his spot into the semifinals via double 10.
