Price claims back-to-back titles to conclude PDC Autumn Series with thrilling victory over Ratajski dartsnews.com/pdc/price-clai…
We have our final on the last day of action at the PDC Autumn Series and it will see two of the best players on the Players Championship series do battle in Gerwyn Price and Krzysztof Ratajski.
Price will look for back-to-back titles after winning yesterday and his red hot streak continues after victory over Jose de Sousa 7-3.
He has now hit five averages in a row of 103+ with his lowest being against Chris Dobey hitting 103.0 in the Last 16 and his highest being against James Wade in the Quarter-Finals (107.2).
Against 'The Special One', it was 104.5 as he has proved his form and he will look for yet another high average when he takes on 'The Polish Eagle'.
Ratajski booked his place in the final himself by seeing off Brendan Dolan in a 7-4 victory averaging 98 in the process but will know now he will have to up it to add a second title of the year.
Gerwyn Price (107.2) 6 | 5 (97.1) James Wade
Jose De Sousa (101.9) 6 | 3 (103.1) Michael van Gerwen
Brendan Dolan (88.3) 6 | 3 (84.3) Matt Clark
Krzysztof Ratajski (90.2) 6 | 0 (78.3) Simon Whitlock
Gerwyn Price (104.5) 7 | 3 (99.7) Jose De Sousa
Brendan Dolan (98.1) 7 | 4 (99.2) Krzysztof Ratajski
The semi-finals have been confirmed in Niedernhausen as we are coming towards the conclusion and one player has continued his brilliance from yesterday.
That is Gerwyn Price who edged past James Wade 6-5 with a 107.2 average to boot. The victor yesterday, he is now set to finish top of the Autumn Series Order of Merit after victory for his next opponent Jose de Sousa against Michael van Gerwen.
De Sousa claimed his first win over Mighty Mike 6-3 and will look for his first title win in a year after claiming two in the Players Championship series.
In the other half it sees the only other winner this year left in the field and that is Krzysztof Ratajski who whitewashed Simon Whitlock. The latter was out of sorts with a 78 average and now 'The Polish Eagle' has soared into the semi-finals with a tie against Brendan Dolan next.
Gerwyn Price (107.2) 6 | 5 (97.1) James Wade
Jose De Sousa (101.9) 6 | 3 (103.1) Michael van Gerwen
Brendan Dolan (88.3) 6 | 3 (84.3) Matt Clark
Krzysztof Ratajski (90.2) 6 | 0 (78.3) Simon Whitlock

The Quarter-Final line-up has been confirmed on Day Five of the PDC Autumn Series with Gerwyn Price v James Wade and Jose de Sousa v Michael van Gerwen among them.
Price has been playing exceptionally this week with it being capped off with a title win yesterday and this has continued today. His latest win came against Chris Dobey 6-2 averaging 103.
Wade as has been pointed out with his win at the PDC Summer Series always has at least one title win or run during a block of tournaments and today could be the day. 'The Machine' has gone under the radar of sorts this week and he took out Jamie Hughes this time around 6-4.
Jose de Sousa knows how to win titles and he has set up a clash with Mighty Mike next up after both averaged 102 in wins over Callan Rydz and Karel Sedlacek.
The Special One's win in particular was as his moniker suggests with Rydz who always has the ability to shows flashes of brilliance hitting a 103 but being beaten in a decider.
Then it is the turn in the opposite half of the draw of Brendan Dolan who returned to the foray last year with two ProTour titles and in the veteran, 'Superman' Matt Clark, he has a chance at potentially another title tilt.
Finally it is Krzysztof Ratajski who is a title winner this year and is a proven winner on the Players Championship series. He faces 'The Wizard' Simon Whitlock who disposed of Bradley Brooks. The aforementioned 'Polish Eagle' defeated World Matchplay champion Dimitri van den Bergh.
Gerwyn Price (103.0) 6 | 2 (92.1) Chris Dobey
James Wade (97.3) 6 | 4 (93.8) Jamie Hughes
Callan Rydz (103.7) 5 | 6 (102.4) Jose De Sousa
Michael van Gerwen (102.3) 6 | 3 (94.1) Karel Sedlacek
Scott Baker (95.1) 4 | 6 (94.7) Brendan Dolan
Matt Clark (90.5) 6 | 4 (89.2) Danny Noppert
Krzysztof Ratajski (90.7) 6 | 4 (89.9) Dimitri Van den Bergh
Bradley Brooks (89.1) 2 | 6 (95.1) Simon Whitlock
Gerwyn Price - | - James Wade
Jose de Sousa - | - Michael van Gerwen
Brendan Dolan - | - Matt Clark
Krzysztof Ratajski - | - Simon Whitlock
The action is into the Last 16 with Rob Cross and Glen Durrant both out in Niedernhausen at this stage.
Cross lost out in the Board Final to Chris Dobey who averaged 98.3 in a 6-4 victory; while Durrant was on the other end of a comeback from Simon Whitlock.
Whitlock came from 4-0 down and survived three match darts to edge through in a 6-5 victory.
Michael van Gerwen could have suffered the same fate with his compatriot Dirk van Duijvenbode putting up more of a fight than earlier in the week. It was only a 6-5 victory for the World Number One who averaged just 91.
Gerwyn Price on the other hand didn't have such issues with yesterday's champion seeing off Madars Razma in a 6-3 victory with a 103.5 average.

While he still could, he lost out in the first round 6-4 to Steve West so a wait will take place now for the Aussie ace.

The first action of the day is complete at the PDC Autumn Series with Michael van Gerwen and Peter Wright breezing through their openers in Niedernhausen.
Van Gerwen is currently top of the Order of Merit after his title win earlier in the week and will look to maintain that today. He hit a 106 average in easing past Barrie Bates in a whitewash win.
Wright didn't complete the exploits that Van Gerwen did but hit a 96 average in defeating Yordi Meeuwisse 6-1.
Also through include the likes of Glen Durrant (d. Wayne Jones 6-2), Rob Cross (d. Ryan Hogarth 6-3) and James Wade who came through a tough tie with Ryan Meikle 6-5.
For Michael Smith though once again he is out. As a result he has made it 3/5 days he has headed out in the first round. He lost out to Max Hopp 6-5.
Ross Smith needs to likely win his board today and this is a board which includes Nathan Aspinall but that hurdle is out of the way with 'The Asp' losing to former World finalist Kirk Shepherd.
