The action continues at Players Championship 9 on Day One of the PDC Summer Series with some big averages flying in at the Marshall Arena in Milton Keynes and some more big names heading out of proceedings.

Second round is complete and it is the Last 32 stage and Michael van Gerwen continues his involvement albeit surviving match darts and a real scare against the Scottish youngster William Borland.
The latter was 4-2 up but in Van Gerwen fashion, he produced brilliance in the latter half of the contest missing Double 18 for a nine-darter before surviving double 20 in the decider but he made his way through. Often big names survive one or two scares en route to title wins, is Van Gerwen in for his first ProTour win of the year?
Gerwyn Price and Ian White know a lot about winning ProTours both winning them this year but they are out in the second round. 'The Iceman' fell to the impressive Dutchman, Martijn Kleermaker having led 3-1 at one point but it was The Dutch Giant who produced a brilliant second half including a 14-dart hold to win.
White also fell to Rowby-John Rodriguez in a deciding leg. A big pick as ever to do well this week but the 1st and 5th seed are now out.
Big averages have been flying all over the Marshall Arena with Glen Durrant and Krzysztof Ratajski showing utter quality on adjacent boards to each other. The latter finished up with a 107.2 average in a 6-1 win over his close friend Krzysztof Kciuk and Durrant from there smashed in a 107.4 average to down Alan Tabern.
Ratajski's board seemingly was the source of big averages as Ryan Searle smashed in a 103.6 average from there in defeating Matthew Dennant.
Peter Wright is also through but had to work for it against Derk Telnekes with the World Champion coming through a tough test 6-4.
Rob Cross denied a 106 average from Boris Krcmar in his first round but smashed in a 105 average to down Max Hopp as the World Matchplay champion gets into the groove in Milton Keynes.
