The semi-finals have been confirmed on the first day of the PDC Summer Series with the winner of Players Championship 9 set to be crowned shortly.
It could be
Michael van Gerwen, the World Number One eased past
Danny Noppert 6-0 and even went eight perfect darts into a nine-dart finish. He is looking for a first Players Championship title of the year.
His opponent
Gabriel Clemens is looking for a first of his career but he has the pedigree. 'The German Giant' has emerged as one of the most consistent players on the PDC Tour and could be a real handful for Mighty Mike after defeating
Mensur Suljovic 6-2.
Peter Wright was threatening records at points during his win over
Glen Durrant but in the end averaged a stunning 108.5 in a 6-3 win and he will take on the previous man to beat,
Krzysztof Ratajski who has had an excellent day and edged past
Dave Chisnall 6-3. Who will claim the first 10,000 in Milton Keynes?
