Anderson had a tough first round on paper with Ryan Searle his opponent but he made light work of him winning 6-1.
Smith came through 6-3 against Devon Peterson while there was also wins for the likes of Dave Chisnall, Simon Whitlock and Adrian Lewis.
Cross like Anderson had a tough test first round and it was something he couldn’t get through. He lost 6-4 to the very dangerous Gabriel Clemens and as a result it is a barren first day for Voltage.
