The Last 16 line-up has been confirmed at Players Championship 8 with the likes of Ian White, James Wade and Peter Wright continuing to impress.
Wade averaged 111 in the last round and followed that up with a 103 average in a 6-4 win against Ciaran Teehan. Could 'The Machine' be on his way to a first title of the season later on today?
White will have something to say about that. 'Diamond' has seemingly not stopped averaging 105 all season on the Players Championship series but has surprisingly not won a title yet but that could change. He upped his average to 111.3 to defeat John Henderson in a 6-3 win.
Wright has already won multiple titles this season and alongside Gerwyn Price - who is not here this weekend and Nathan Aspinall - who bowed out early today has been one of the most in-form players in World darts.
He is through to the Last 16 after seeing off fellow ranking winner this year Ryan Searle 6-4 despite defying a 106.9 average.
As well, while the likes of Michael Smith, Glen Durrant and Dave Chisnall make it through, the same cannot be said for Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney who lost out to Keegan Brown and Justin Pipe respectively despite both averaging in excess of 100 in defeat.
