Ten players booked their places at the 2024 Czech Darts Open following Thursday’s PDC Tour Card Qualifier, each winning three matches to secure their ticket to the Euro Tour event in Prague this September.
Germany’s Niko Springer edged out Belgium’s Andy Baetens 6–4 in one of the day’s most competitive finals, averaging 94.47 in the process. England’s Ritchie Edhouse produced a standout performance, posting a 101.79 average in a commanding 6–2 win over Thomas Lovely.
Poland’s Krzysztof Ratajski also progressed with a narrow 6–5 victory against Ireland’s Dylan Slevin in a high-quality encounter, while Brendan Dolan (Northern Ireland) comfortably saw off James Hurrell 6–2 with a 98.44 average. Ireland’s William O’Connor impressed with a 99.36 average in a 6–3 win against Darren Beveridge, and former World Matchplay semi-finalist Ian White claimed his spot with a 6–2 win over Max Hopp.
The Netherlands will be represented by three qualifiers: Richard Veenstra, who beat Berry van Peer 6–3, Kevin Doets, who dropped just two legs against Andy Boulton in a 99.84 average performance and Maik Kuivenhoven, who held his nerve in a tight 6–5 win over Mario Vandenbogaerde, sealing the match with a 101 checkout. Cor Dekker, representing Norway, rounds off the list of qualifiers after a solid 6–3 victory over Latvia’s Madars Razma.
The Czech Darts Open returns for its fifth edition from 5–7 September at the PVA Expo in Prague. The tournament will feature all 16 seeded players from the PDC Order of Merit, including Luke Littler, Luke Humphries, Michael van Gerwen, Gerwyn Price, and Gary Anderson, who will enter the competition in the second round.
Additionally, the top 16 players from the Pro Tour Order of Merit not already qualified have also received invitations, starting their campaigns from round one. Among them are Gian van Veen, Wessel Nijman, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Raymond van Barneveld, Jermaine Wattimena, and Mike De Decker.
