Rob Cross punishes wasteful van Gerwen to set up Premier League final with Luke Littler in Liverpool

Rob Cross will face off against Luke Littler in the final of Night 13 of the 2024 Premier League Darts in Liverpool, after a 6-2 victory over Michael van Gerwen in the semi-finals.

Starting strongly, it was Cross who took the opener, punishing a pair of missed darts from van Gerwen to take it in 16 darts. Despite only averaging 77, a few moments later Cross was 2-0 up after van Gerwen had missed a further seven on the outer ring. Despite both players being far from their best, the ongoing drama on the doubles was making for intriguing watching as van Gerwen managed to level up at 2-2.

As the momentum shifted again however, Cross took the next two legs to restore his two leg lead, before pinning a brilliant 121 to move 5-2 ahead. A few moments later, the English had secured his place in the final at the first time of asking with a ruthless 82 checkout.
