Robert Owen and
Danny van Trijp have sealed their PDC Tour Cards for the next two years and PDC World Darts Championship spots this December through the
Challenge Tour which concludes this afternoon.
Scott Williams will top the secondary tour Order of Merit and seal a spot at the Grand Slam of Darts but will be assured of his PDC Tour Card through the main Order of Merit after a superb season which has seen him seal a maiden PDC ranking title, dominate the Challenge Tour for large parts and will claim his Ally Pally debut through the ProTour route.
The dilemma was going into this weekend that Williams could have picked either but 'Shaggy' would have to start on £0 for his two-year Tour Card compared to currently on £35,750 which will only increase due to playing in Aldersley as well as all majors to conclude the season barring the European Championship.
As a result, the two main prizes go to the numbers two and three. On the final day, Van Trijp had to keep Stephen Burton in particular behind him. The Dutchman was then able to breathe a sigh of relief when Burton lost to Robert Thornton in the last 32.
While for Owen, who will return to the tour after a short absence reached a semi-final yesterday which put him in pole position and was basically assured of at least third spot come what may.
