Ross Smith won the first major of his career late last year with the European Championship. Meanwhile, 'Smudger' has climbed to seventeenth place in the world rankings.
Smith appears to be particularly successful on his doubles. Darts Orakel, a platform that deals with all kinds of data and statistics, calculated that the 34-year-old Englishman hit 65% of his attempts on double 8 during TV matches this year.
With that, Smith is doing as much as eight per cent better than the next player in that list.
