Ross Smith v Andy Boulton and Wesley Plaisier v Cam Crabtree set for Players Championship 13 semi-finals

It is an almost all Challenge Tour call-up line-up in the semi-finals of Players Championship 13 with three players who are filling up the numbers in Milton Keynes standing a chance of winning a maiden title.

Led by former World Master, Wesley Plaisier, he faces Cam Crabtree in the first semi-final. The latter who came so close to a Tour Card last year showed why he has credentials to join the main tour by defeating James Wade.

Wade himself has done a great job today and sits on the cusp of making it to the World Matchplay. While Boulton since downing Gerwyn Price has grown in confidence and has seen off Andrew Gilding now. The only former title winner left is Ross Smith.

The former major winner defeated Jonny Clayton 6-4 with a 94 average to book his spot. But if he is defeated, there will be a non Tour Card winner and a brand new ranking title holder.
