Schedule and preview Friday evening session 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship featuring Wright and Lim

The action continues on Friday evening at the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship with the biggest name yet to adorn the Alexandra Palace stage.

Peter Wright fresh off his triumph at the Players Championship Finals will hope to begin his quest for a second World title when he takes on Ryan Meikle in a Suffolk derby with 'Snakebite' of course living in Mendham.

But before that, the legend himself Paul Lim will walk on to the familiar tones of Dire Straits to begin the night in what is his 26th World Championship appearance.

He takes on a potentially tricky tie in Joe Murnan in what is his first appearance since a first round defeat in 2017 to Mark Webster.

Following that, from the oldest player in the tournament to two of the youngest as the potential future of the sport collide. William Borland faces Bradley Brooks with big implications potentially for Nathan Rafferty with the latter needing to win to help his close friend.

If Brooks can finish inside the main top 64, Rafferty will be a Tour Card holder next year.

Before Wright v Meikle, it is the battle of the Smith's in a quality tie as Ross Smith faces Jeff Smith in what could be the best clash of the first round.
