Ryan Joyce is through to the second round of the PDC World Darts Championship after taking out Roman Benecky who came back to send 'Relentless' all the way.
Joyce spoke afterwards and admitted complacency to his game against the Czech qualifier despite giving him credit.
"That is the word I'd use relieved. I felt really comfortable but to his credit he started to play much better. Nerves set in but nerves helped me play better.
"It felt like it was easy and that I didn't have to perform well to win. But then he started to play really well all of a sudden and that caught us out big time."
For 'Relentless', it was all about getting his opening round out of the way and now he can settle into the tournament.
"Once you get that first round out of the way in any tournament, even the Players Championship. Once you can get through, you can settle in without feeling that horrible pressure."
