The Quarter-Finals conclude at the
World Matchplay on Friday night with two more bumper ties on the way to conclude the other side of the draw.
Last night, Michael van Gerwen-Dimitri van den Bergh was confirmed after wins over Nathan Aspinall and Peter Wright and one more Dutchman will join their compatriot.
In the opener this evening, we go Double Dutch as
Dirk Van Duijvenbode faces
Danny Noppert in a clash of two of the most impressive players this tournament.
Van Duijvenbode saw off Michael Smith last time. While Noppert including no look 180’s defeated Daryl Gurney with ease but who prevails in a likely high quality clash?
The winner will face either
Gerwyn Price or
Jose de Sousa. In his opening ties so far, Price has defeated Martin Schindler and Dave Chisnall and despite it not being plain sailing, he has shown constant improvement with his A game seemingly coming back.
The same can be said for De Sousa who has had a darting resurgence which saw him back up a superb opening win over Gabriel Clemens by seeing off Rob Cross.
But can he seal his biggest scalp so far in Blackpool by defeating ‘The Iceman’ as he looks to showcase that the Special One is a force to be reckoned with.
