The eighteenth edition of Premier League Darts will kick off this evening albeit with a different format for the 2022 edition as the darting roadshow begins in Cardiff.
There will no longer be a weekly league table only format as players will compete in mini tournaments every week to add the points this time towards the play-offs with the top four advancing.
There will also be eight players instead of ten - this has seen some high profile omissions from the potential line-up with Joe Cullen set for his debut after winning the Masters.
While despite winning a major, Rob Cross was excluded. Dimitri van den Bergh and Jose de Sousa will also not be included.
Clayton and Price set for heroes welcome on return to Cardiff
After winning the title last year, Jonny Clayton will receive a heroes welcome on the opening night in Cardiff when he faces off against Cullen, who has a real task on his opening Premier League foray.
Gerwyn Price will then likely for the first time in a long time not be booed when he takes to the oche as he also returns home to face James Wade.
World Champion Peter Wright faces Michael Smith in the usual re run of the World final, while Michael van Gerwen and Gary Anderson will again lock horns.
Later in the evening, the semi-finals and the final will be played. All matches are played over a best of 11 legs format.
