The
Premier League Darts season is close to reaching its conclusion with the 14th of 16 weeks of action set to be completed on Thursday night in Sheffield.
Only seven players have travelled with James Wade having to withdraw due to illness. 'The Machine' doesn't have to worry about being overtaken for now with
Joe Cullen gaining ground and a bye due to this but is still some distance off.
But if he misses further weeks, it could lead to a late surge from The Rockstar. He will face either
Gary Anderson and
Gerwyn Price which will likely get the narrative once again of their Grand Slam game back in 2018 which is infamous due to the record fine Price received.
Michael van Gerwen will meet his rival
Peter Wright yet again with Mighty Mike able to secure his spot in the play-offs with at least a final.
While
Jonny Clayton is the only player currently qualified but it could be a barnstormer against
Michael Smith who of course comes into this unbeaten in 14 games and winning back-to-back titles in Wigan.
