Tonight is the night. The semi-finals of this year's 2022 PDC World Matchplay will take place at the Winter Gardens between Gerwyn Price and Danny Noppert and Michael van Gerwen facing Dimitri van den Bergh.
All eyes as expected will be on Price and Van Gerwen with a potential final between two great rivals on the cards but based off their current form, it could yet be Noppert facing Van den Bergh.
Noppert has as usual gone under the radar at times but showed with a stellar win over Dirk van Duijvenbode 16-11 that he is very much one to watch to aim to add to his UK Open triumph. He faces Price who has never claimed the World Matchplay or reached this point in the tournament so is a gap to fill as he became World Number One once more already.
While Van den Bergh for another year has been unstoppable after reaching the final in 2021 and winning in 2020. It could yet be a second title but in Van Gerwen, he has a player who he could easily take advantage of in terms of not being 100% form wise but also could improve once more and blow him away.
Who seals both semi-finals in the best of 33 format and finds their way into tomorrow's final?
