The
European Darts Grand Prix is set to move into the Last 16 on Sunday afternoon in what is a near wide open field in Stuttgart.
That is in part due to Martin Lukeman who dumped out Michael van Gerwen yesterday and continued his brilliance this season on the
European Tour and will now face a different proposition in home hero, Martin Schindler.
Last time he had a run in Germany, the crowd chanted his name but this time they will likely be against 'Smash' but can he break through 'The Wall'?
Damon Heta follows on against Ryan Searle in a battle of two of the top performers on the ProTour this season who will hope to bring that onto the European Tour. As is the case with the bracket, they will play the winner of the opener.
Rowby-John Rodriguez has been quietly navigating through and has been in some superb form as of late and he will hope for the same Daryl Gurney as on Saturday who only just got past Eddie Lovely in a gruelling tie. Rob Cross follows on against Krzysztof Ratajski, with Andrew Gilding again in the latter stages facing Brendan Dolan.
Joe Murnan after dumping out Dimitri van den Bergh will take on
Luke Humphries with a potential big opportunity awaiting as if he wins, it will be Gilding or Dolan. But his next opponent will be one of the favourites for the title in 'Cool Hand' who sits on the verge of a hat-trick of titles this season.
While it is a battle of Premier League stars to follow as
Peter Wright faces
Jonny Clayton in what could be a barnstormer or a scrappy affair. Both will see it as a golden opportunity for a European Tour run if they can get through and will be two of the favourites for the title going into the session.
The winner will then get either UK Open champion
Danny Noppert or rising star, Nathan Rafferty though so tough throughout going into the Last 16.
