Only eight players remain in the battle for the latest European Tour title at the Hungarian Darts Trophy with a real potential for a first time winner with only Joe Cullen, Dave Chisnall and Jose de Sousa being previous winners.

They will begin as favourites but against strong opposition from two stars of the future in particular with Josh Rock continuing his darting rise with his latest win over Dirk van Duijvenbode. He will next have Chisnall in his sights with the winner set to face Cullen or another top young talent in Rusty-Jake Rodriguez.

In the other half, it is mainly established names in Jose de Sousa who will face William O'Connor as well as Nathan Aspinall who has been in superb form this season but as he joked yesterday could finally have a chance to reach a final on the European Tour.

He faces Ryan Meikle though who has used this weekend as a real springboard in his hopes of qualifying for the European Championship in Dortmund and will have his eyes set on another scalp. Who comes out on top tonight?
