The first double session day is set on Thursday afternoon at the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship with Daryl Gurney and Scott Mitchell the headline acts at the Alexandra Palace.

Gurney will face Ricky Evans with 'Rapid' impressing in spells against Nitin Kumar and he will hope it is his time for a good run this year.

While for 'Superchin', he will hope to continue his improved form line with a Quarter-Final at the recent Players Championship Finals aiding his revival. It will be the battle of MDA Promotions which will headline proceedings with both under the same management stable.

Starting off the session is Steve Lennon who has a best of a fourth round on TV this year at the UK Open in a barren year barring that for 'Scuba Steve'. He lost last year in the second round which has become his best result both in 2019 and 2021.

He faces Madars Razma who is set for his sixth World Championship appearance. The Latvian has been steadily improving and will fancy his chances against Lennon with Krzysztof Ratajski awaiting the winner.

Following that, it is the contrast of pace with Scott Mitchell, a former Lakeside World Champion set for his first PDC appearance which for many back when he was a BDO stalwart would have been a pipedream.

But now 'Scotty Dog' after a steady first year on the PDC circuit will adorn the Alexandra Palace stage for the first time.

He faces someone he will know fairly well from the BDO/WDF system in Chris Landman. A three time qualifier in the BDO, he was also qualified for the recently rescheduled WDF Lakeside World Championship but has harboured PDC ambitions.

Following 'Who Let The Dogs Out' will be the 'Witch Doctor' with the Italian Open winner set for his Ally Pally debut.

Same can be said for Chas Barstow and John Norman Jnr with a Michael van Gerwen tie on the way for the victor.

Barstow could yet claim his Tour Card by right after doing the remarkable and qualifying through the ProTour despite not being a PDC Tour Card holder.

He will face the enigmatic Canadian who is known for his wild celebrations and could produce once more on his debut in London against a calm and composed Barstow.
