One of the best afternoon sessions awaits on Wednesday as the penultimate day of action before Christmas at the 2021/22 PDC World Darts Championship begins.

Ryan Searle fresh off his run to the final of the Players Championship Finals will face off against nine-dart hero, William Borland who has spent recent days as part of a media storm after his heroics against Bradley Brooks.

Searle is seen by many as one of the leading contenders for the Premier League and will aim to put in a good run at the Ally Pally to give the selectors something to think about.

A former Premier League champion will then take to the oche in Glen Durrant who is aiming to refind his form. The former three-time Lakeside World Champion has combatted potential retirement rumours and has remained defiant in playing in this tournament and aiming to get his career back on track.

He faces William O'Connor with many seeing 'The Magpie' having one of the simplest tasks seed wise but can Durrant prove the doubters wrong?

Rowby-John Rodriguez has a huge game in the context of his career following that. With Florian Hempel's brilliance, he is now into the top 64.

This puts 'Little John' out of the running and if he loses to Luke Humphries, he will go to Q-School and if he wins it will likely secure his card. A game with high stakes on the Ally Pally stage against a player with form on the North London mecca of darts.

Before Jim Williams aims to dump out Joe Cullen who himself has had an up and down year with his form returning as of late. He will harbour good and bad memories of 12 months ago in one of the greatest games he has ever played against Michael van Gerwen but can he combat 'The Quiff'.
