The world's top players are visiting Graz, Austria, this weekend, where the fifth
European Tour tournament of the season is being played at the
Austrian Darts Open. Friday afternoon the first eight matches from the first round will be played.
The sixteen Pro Tour qualifiers and the sixteen winners of the various qualifying tournaments will make their appearance in the first round on Friday. During the first session, a number of notable names will be in action at the Steiermarkhalle.
Talented Dutch youngster, Wessel Nijman opens the session. In the opening match, Nijman will make his appearance against Romeo Grbavac from Croatia.
Right after that, it's Jeffrey de Zwaan's turn to battle Karel Sedlacek.
Ryan Joyce faces American darter Danny Lauby in the first round, while Bredan Dolan faces Host Nation Qualifer Hannes Schnier. Darius Labanauskas was paired with Madars Razma in the draw, and Arron Monk meets Ritchie Edhouse. The final match of the afternoon will be between Dom Taylor and Christian Goedl.
Richard Veenstra will play
Ricky Evans in the first round. Veenstra and Evans were originally not even supposed to compete in this Euro Tour tournament. They were called up because Gary Anderson and Luke Humphries withdrew.
