Over the past eight days, the field has been minimised from 32 players to eight players who will now battle it out for the title of being the first PDC Home Tour champion and we are down to the last semi-final on Thursday night.
Jelle Klaasen and
Gary Anderson came through the first semi-final group. The second group consists of
Rob Cross ,
Joe Cullen ,
Nathan Aspinall and
Jonny Clayton .
Based on form so far in the tournament, Cullen and Aspinall could be remarked as the favourites. The former was
excellent in his second chance group earlier in the tournament in a stunning clean sweep and continued that by
moving through into the semi-finals also with an excellent display as he edged past Jeff Smith in a straight shootout.
Aspinall hasn't yet lost a game in the
PDC Home Tour claiming two clean sweeps all while seemingly having an
injury during his time away from the oche.
It is the toughest out of the two groups to call though because Cross has shown flashes of brilliance and while Clayton was pushed by Scott Waites, he was the class of the group in the last semi-final. All are capable and so picking a top two could be tough tonight.
The numbers one and two of each group qualify for the Championship group. On Friday, June 5, the four remaining players will compete for the title.
All PDC Home Tour action will be broadcast live
